Defoamer for High-Viscosity and High-Build Coatings
Silicone Defoamer for Water-Based Coatings
DF520 is a cost-effective silicone emulsion defoamer for foam control in water-based coating formulations.
DF520 helps prevent, control and eliminate foam in water-based coatings. It is effective at low concentrations and disperses easily in aqueous solutions.
Recommended addition level: 0.1%–0.5% by weight of the total coating formulation.
For water-based coating formulations, add directly to the foaming system or dilute with water before addition.
Packaging sizes: 25 kg, 200 kg and 1000 kg. Store at 2–35°C. Shelf life is 12 months from production.
Download the English TDS from the Technical Documents section below. For the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) or a document revision confirmation, contact XYZTU about DF 520. Specify the required document language and destination country, and confirm document availability and revision before use.
See water-based coating formulation and application for related material selection.
Compare a control and DF520 trial in the same coating formulation at the same batch size, temperature, mixing speed and mixing time. Record the addition stage, foam development, foam decay and any remaining microfoam. Inspect the dried film for craters, gloss changes and other compatibility effects. A foam-decay observation alone does not establish acceptable coating appearance.
DF520 is the cost-effective silicone option for water-based coatings. For other formulation priorities, compare DF2410 for microfoam control, B199 for high-viscosity and high-build systems and DF-1572 for persistent foam control in acidic and alkaline waterborne systems. These are selection directions, not a ranking of measured performance. Confirm the addition stage and compatibility in each formulation.
