Wetting & dispersing agents

Xytu® WL510

Superwetting Agent

Xytu® WL510 is a superspreading polyether organosilicone adjuvant for addition to agricultural chemical spray formulations. Xytu® WL510 can reduce the surface tension of a spray formulation to lower than 22 mN/m, compared with a lower limit of approximately 30 mN/m for conventional non-silicone adjuvants. This reduction in surface tension occurs dynamically and rapidly, maximizing liquid contact area when spray droplets reach the leaf surface.

Product Overview

Xytu® WL510 is a superspreading polyether organosilicone adjuvant for addition to agricultural chemical spray formulations. Xytu® WL510 can reduce the surface tension of a spray formulation to lower than 22 mN/m, compared with a lower limit of approximately 30 mN/m for conventional non-silicone adjuvants. This reduction in surface tension occurs dynamically and rapidly, maximizing liquid contact area when spray droplets reach the leaf surface.

Product Features

  • Superdispersant for pesticide spray formulations
  • Improves spray adhesion to leaves
  • Increases spray coverage
  • Provides rainfastness through stomatal penetration
  • Reduces the amount of spray water

Application Example

A tank-mix adjuvant used with agricultural chemicals as a superspreader.

Application Guidance

Xytu® WL510 disperses readily in water. Add it to the spray tank at the final stage and avoid excessive agitation to minimize foam. Xytu® WL510 readily hydrolyzes under acidic or alkaline conditions. Ideally, the spray formulation should be buffered as close to neutral as possible (pH 7.0). Use the spray mixture immediately after mixing rather than leaving it to stand, for example overnight. When using Xytu® WL510, a high spray volume is not needed for good coverage; avoid high spray volumes to prevent runoff associated with excessive application. Xytu® WL510 is normally used at a concentration of 0.025%-0.1% in the spray tank.
