Xytu® TT-60
Alkali-Swellable Acrylic Thickener
HASE Thickener for Water-Based Paints
Review TT-90 HASE thickener for emulsion paints, with product data, formulation pH guidance and English technical documentation.
TT-90 is a hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsion (HASE) rheology modifier intended for water-based emulsion paints. Its selection should consider medium-shear viscosity, flow and leveling in the finished formulation. Check the binder system, formulation pH and addition procedure during trials.
TT-90 is a milky-white, anionic liquid thickener with a low as-supplied viscosity for easy addition. It can be used alone or with other types of thickeners in emulsion paints and is compatible with a range of emulsions. It offers low odor, spatter resistance and good thermal stability.
Adjust the formulation pH to 8-9 before addition. Dilute with water at a product-to-water ratio of 1:4 and add slowly. The source does not specify whether the dilution ratio is by mass or volume. Recommended dosage: 3-5% of formulation mass, measured as supplied. Determine the exact dosage in preliminary trials before paint preparation, according to the emulsion and required final viscosity.
Store away from light in a cool, dry place at 5–35°C with packaging intact. Reseal immediately after each use and use promptly after opening. Shelf life is 12 months from production.
Review water-based coating formulation materials for rheology, foam control and binder selection before discussing your emulsion paint formulation.
The as-supplied product pH (2-4) differs from the formulation pH (8-9) required before addition. The 3-5% dosage is based on the product as supplied, not the diluted mixture. Confirm dilution-ratio basis and density test temperature when needed.

Compare TT-40 associative polymer thickener, TT-60 alkali-swellable acrylic thickener and TT-90 against the required finished-paint rheology. TT-40 is not identified here as HEUR or HASE. Record low-, medium- and high-shear measurements with the instrument, temperature and method, together with leveling and sag observations. The supplied-product Brookfield viscosity is not a finished-paint rheology curve.
