CMIT/MIT In-Can Preservative
CMIT/MIT Preservative
PV100 is a CMIT/MIT preservative blend for in-can preservation of coatings, polymer emulsions and pigment pastes.
PV100 controls bacteria, yeasts and molds. Salt stabilization helps improve stability and reduce gel formation or emulsion breaking when the preservative is added. It offers good compatibility with aqueous emulsions for in-can preservation of coatings and their aqueous polymer emulsions and pigment pastes.
The suitable system pH range is 2.0–9.0. Above pH 9, discoloration or reduced mold-control performance may occur. Carry out compatibility testing before use. The recommended dosage for most applications is 0.01%–0.1%.
Packed in 25 kg drums and 1250 kg/drum. Store in the original container and avoid extreme temperatures. Shelf life is 12 months at 20°C.
