Xytu® APP-83C
APP Flame Retardant for Intumescent Coatings
APP-83C is a phase II ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant used as a component in intumescent fire-protective coating formulations.
Description
APP-83C consists of crystalline phase II ammonium polyphosphate. Its halogen-free phosphorus-nitrogen structure combines a high degree of polymerization with good thermal stability. During burning, it forms an expanded char layer that provides thermal insulation and limits air access, acting as a flame-retardant component in intumescent fire-protective coatings. Its low moisture absorption is relevant to formulation selection.
Packaging and Storage
Packed in 25 kg bags with a plastic inner liner and woven outer bag, or 500/1000 kg bulk bags. Keep the packaging closed and store in a cool, dry environment to reduce caking.
