Define when and why protection is needed
Temporary protection serves a different purpose from primers and topcoats that form part of a coating system. Describe what needs protection and whether the protective layer will later be removed or remain as the final coating.
| Purpose | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Temporary protection | The surface to protect, application conditions and removal requirements |
| Primer | Substrate condition and the planned coating system |
| Topcoat | The existing surface, appearance requirements and service conditions |
Record the substrate and existing surface
- Describe the substrate and whether it is already coated.
- Provide surface photographs and available application methods.
- Describe the service environment and any subsequent processing, removal or maintenance requirements.
Confirm with the relevant product documents
The current XYZTU catalogue lists LT-106 Water-Based Peelable Temporary Protective Coating. Separate group-site information describes LT-101; current LT-101 availability and its relationship to LT-106 require confirmation from the technical or sales team. Do not substitute one model or its documents for the other. Our waterborne peelable coating guide links to the current product listing, documents and inquiry route. Primers and topcoats serve different purposes and require their own product selection.
